EAS Performance
Combine acting, singing, and dancing in our unique weekly 2 hour musical theatre workshop for all skill levels and will lead to a full scale musical production!
These sessions are dedicated to providing an exciting and fun exploration into the world of musicals - ending in a full scale musical production, on a professional stage, complete with costumes, props, make up, lighting and set!
The first few weeks will always focus on getting to know each other and building trust and positive relationships within the group, from ages 7-18.
The weeks following this will be focused on audition technique and will cumulate in friendly, supportive and confidence building auditions for the EAS musical of choice - which we aim to perform in the summer months.
The audition process
Questions I frequently get asked ....
- Why is the idea of a more holistic audition process so important to you?
- Wont that set the students up to think auditions are easy and they will always get the part they want?
- Doesn't this give them a false sense of reality?
AND MY ANSWER IS ALWAYS ....
NO!!
I believe in an audition process that is fair and promotes my philosophy that the arts is for everyone. Everyone has a space at the studio and is welcomed, supported and encouraged to persue something that they enjoy.
Auditions are scary and daunting, but when confidence and trust is built - auditions can be fun, encouraging and life affirming.
Auditions at the EAS will include workshop style group sessions, one to one auditions and virtual auditions via video link, for those who are not yet confident to audition face to face and feel they need to build up to this skill.
